The different manual control options have become rather confused across the product range and this is being addressed by enhancing the features and standardising the interface for all products. These features will be implemented on any product which has issue 4c or later code. The order of product release is expected to be
This has always been available on Zone products, Zone Controllers and DHW controllers (products which have time zones), by pressing the override button to override Occupancy either on or off, and remotely from Doorway using the ON/OFF/AUTO dialog box.
The same function is now possible on other controllers. The Occupation state can be forced from Doorway using ON/OFF/AUTO, or the controller can be forced into Occupation by holding down the override button until the status led starts flashing. The single press on the override is not implemented on non zone products because it is too easy to set it by mistake. If Occupancy has been forced at the controller it will report as being in override at Doorway and can be switched back to auto from Doorway.
Doorway Syntax
[Mn]W1(S)/auto/override/10/12/W2(S) where Mn is the address of the controller
This brings up the ON/OFF/AUTO dialog box which allows the user to select Override ON, Override OFF or Automatic control.
This allows the fixing of the controller output for commissioning purposes. The Zone Controller is a special case which will be dealt with separately.
For all controllers other than Zone Controllers
activation at the controller
If the controller has been placed in a Manual or Override mode at the controller, Doorway will report override and the controller can be set back into Automatic by selecting the AUTO button.
activation from Doorway
The following data point needs to be put on the page
[Mn]W5(S)/hand/auto/12/10/C83(V) where Mn is the address of the controller
Clicking on the point will bring up a dialog box which allows hand or auto to be selected with radio buttons and the output level to be set in a text box or using the slider controls. The output can be set between -100, full cooling through to +100 full heating. When the controller is in Hand mode from Doorway, the status led flashes and the temperature led shows the direction of the output, red heating, yellow cooling. The HAND mode cannot be changed from the controller without powering down the controller, or setting Switch 5 to OFF with a Zone Controller.
In the syntax above C83 refers to a fixed location configuration variable which repeats MANL. The same effect can be achieved by setting the configuration variable MANL, but this way the syntax is common for all controllers.
activation from a Zone Controller
The manual Hand mode is controlled by a switch HAND and a configuration variable MANL, these parameters can be set in any controller using a Zone Controller in the normal way.
These operate slightly differently because the display provides extra options and they are usually mounted in public areas and accidental instigation of manual modes needs to be avoided.
To activate put the controller into to configuration mode, hold the select button down and rotate the knob clockwise until the switch HAND is displayed. Hold down the Override button and set HAND equal to 1. The controller will immediately exit configuration mode and display MANL which can be set by holding down the override button and turning the knob. If it is important that the controller changes into HAND at a specified level, set the configuration variable MANL before setting the switch HAND. While in Manual Hand Mode the status led will fast flash and the Zone controller will only display MANL and the demand value. The value may be adjusted by holding down override and turning the knob. To exit Manual Hand Mode press select and override together.
The operation from Doorway is exactly the same as for any other controller.
